Skin Wisdom Age Delay Replenishing and Restoring Night Cream - Beauty in the Supermarket

I was sent this Skin Wisdom Age Delay Replensishing and Restoring Night Cream to review some time ago, but it’s taken me a while to get round to reviewing it for a couple of reasons.  Firstly, I had a terrible adverse reaction to a product I used back in May, which destroyed my skin for most of the summer.  It wasn’t until the end of July that my skin got back on tract, and I was unwilling to launch straight into a new product.  Secondly, this product is marked for “mature skin”, which although I’m in my 30s, I wasn’t sure was right for me (given that mature skin creams are thicker than other and it is a night cream).  I thought about asking my Mum to test it out for me, but eventually decided my skin could handle a shake up.

Firstly, I really like the smell of this cream – it smells expensive, and for a budget-friendly price, this is a winner.  Secondly, the packaging is good and it doesn’t have one of those annoying, fiddly plastic lids things that most face creams have.

I have actually been really pleased with how good the product is and how well it suits my skin, despite it being aimed at a more mature market.  It has quite a thick and rich texture, but it emulsifies well and is easily absorbed into my skin.  Once on, my skin feels soft and dewy, but not sticky like many night creams feel.  I’ve now been using this for about a month and I’ve experienced no breakouts in that time and my skin is continuing to behave well and look healthy.

Although this is a night cream, I have also used it as a daily moisturiser on a few occasions, and it works perfectly well.  I’ve not found it too thick as a day cream and it holds makeup just as well as many other daily moisturises do, so it’s a very useful product.  Although it’s probably a bit too thick for daytime use during the recent heatwave we’re experiencing, I think this would be perfect for cold, autumn and winter days when your skin needs a bit more added moisture.

Given that I’m in my 30s, I can’t really comment on how this would work on more mature skin – if you’ve tried it, I’d be interested to hear your thoughts.

So what’s the price?  Well, at £7, it’s not the cheapest night cream on the market, but it is a reasonably affordable price and easy to pop it into your trolley at Tesco (where it's exclusively available).  Would I buy this myself?  Yes I would, particularly as the weather gets colder.

Thanks for reading! xx
